Born September 1957 in St. Columb Major, I grew up on a farm near Probus, Cornwall. I drew and painted all through my childhood, growing up in a home where art was considered important - my mum was a keen amateur painter - and the smell of turpentine and oil paints was often in the air. I now live and work near Gorran, St. Austell, Cornwall.

I am self taught and have long had a fascination with etching, and was fortunate to meet Trevor Price who gave me lessons in etching on steel and zinc plates. From this time I was gripped with the printmaking bug, bought an etching press and have been experimenting with various printing techniques ever since.

I have attended several of the "Summer Print Workshops" at John Howard's studio in Penryn, enabling me to experiment with equipment not available in my studio. My prints mainly consist of etchings, collagraphs and monoprints. I find that printing and drawing are good mediums for me, one complimenting the other, whilst being different enough for me to exploit the qualities of each, giving contrasting results. Since 2012 ink drawing has been a new development which I find very interesting.
